Just observed Eastern tent caterpillar for the first time in 2014!

Cherry and crabapple trees beware! This picture was taken over the weekend on Saturday 4.12.14 in Caldwell, Ohio. These Eastern tent caterpillars were found on a small Black cherry (Prunus serotina). Eastern tent caterpillar is a primarily a pest of Cherry, apple, crabapple, plum and sometimes peach. Its preferred host in the landscape seems to be cherry and crabapple.
